As a venue, it somehow manages to be both intimate and spacious, and is always suffused with perfectly golden lighting. Not only does Some Where House boast a great range of wine, it also proudly supports local artists. Some Where House hosts weekly open mic sessions on Wednesdays with the intent of showcasing the city’s young up-and-coming talent. It is the perfect spot to stay warm and soak up some local tunes.

The Grace Emily has long been a favourite venue of this particular punter. It is safe, it is inviting, and most importantly it utilises its crackling fireplace during the colder months.
The pub hosts a weekly jazz jam on Wednesday nights, and is constantly hosting invigorating sets from local musicians across genres. It is definitely easy to feel snug and to catch the best that the local scene has to offer at The Grace Emily.
As the name suggest, Goodwood Books is, in fact, a bookshop. The Goodwood Road-based store lovingly curates secondhand volumes, with an emphasis on feminist literature.
But recently the bookshop has started to dip its toes into the world of gig-hosting. In February, Goodwood Books hosted their first music event, and, in fact, Cagefly is set to launch their debut album at Goodwood Books this Saturday, April 26th. What a treat – to be surrounded by good music and good books.
Head to the beloved Crown and Anchor this chilly season while it’s still open! The iconic pub is slated to close for twenty-four months from mid-July 2025, so surely punters should be spending as much of autumn as possible in the Cranker front-room for its lovely acoustic sets, and in the Cranker backroom for its electric full-band shows – it was inducted into the South Australian Music Hall of Fame for a reason, after all.
