I think by now, everyone has heard about the news regarding Teresa Giudice and her husband, Louie Ruelas, being hit with financial issues. It has been revealed that Teresa and Louie owe $3 million in total in tax liens. For me, and any other The Real Housewives of New Jersey fan, this may feel like a bad case of déjà vu. When Teresa was married to her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, they were both convicted of fraud and both served their time for their crimes.
Although there has been a ton of speculation about whether Teresa and her husband will face the same fate as she and Joe Giudice, and if she has learned from her past mistakes or not, no one besides their family knows the full situation. As a RHONJ fan myself, I choose not to judge Teresa or Louie because we do not know the exact story regarding their financial issues. However, there is somebody who has no problem speaking about this issue, and that is none other than The Real Housewives of New York alum, Bethenny Frankel.
‘RHONY’ Alum Bethenny Frankel Dissed Teresa Giudice
While I was doing my usual scrolling on TikTok, an interesting video by Bethenny Frankel popped up. Usually, I always stop my scrolling and watch whatever it is that Bethenny is talking about, because not only do I think she is hilarious and entertaining, but I normally love getting her point of view and hearing her personal opinion. However, this time, I was not too keen on what she had to say regarding Teresa and her financial struggles. The video starts out with Bethenny saying, “I cannot believe that Teresa is in another marriage with financial legal issues.” She then goes on to say Teresa is one of the “worst pickers in the history of pickers” regarding her marriage to Joe and Louie and ends the video by calling the situation unfathomable. I did not see the issue with this specific TikTok post, because the whole Internet was talking about this news, but Bethenny kept posting and that is when I thought it was a bit cringey.

In a second TikTok post, Bethenny went in on Louie and Teresa. In this video, Bethenny stated, “I remember someone talking to me about Teresa and Louie, that he was flying her places and showering her with everything, and there was something about it that was too much. And then I said, ‘But he’s on The Real Housewives of New Jersey?’ So he’s like a major bag alert, but he’s on that trash bin of a show? Doesn’t make any sense.” The video continues with Bethenny saying that a person only goes on RHONJ if they are broke and trying to get somewhere in life and then getting off. In my opinion, Bethenny surely has a strong opinion towards Teresa and knows a lot about Teresa’s past with financial issues for someone that thinks RHONJ is a “trash bag”. Not only do I think it is classless to talk about someone’s financial struggles without knowing the full story, but I think it is disturbing to insinuate that everyone that has ever joined the show is ” broke”. If Bethenny really feels that way, then I do not understand why she even had to insert her opinion in the first place.
‘RHONJ’s’ Gia Giudice Clapped Back
After Bethenny posted those videos on TikTok, Gia Giudice clapped back. On Gia’s podcast, “Casual Chaos”, she responded to everything Bethenny posted. “Bethenny Frankel, thank you so much for your sweet video. You are a mother with a daughter. I bet you wouldn’t like it if somebody was saying this about you. I hope that $1,000 TikTok paycheck was really worth it.” I think Gia’s response was perfect. She stood up for her mother and family, which I think is absolutely the right thing to do. Bethenny then posted another TikTok, claiming that she has no idea who Gia even is.
I do not believe for a second that Bethenny did not know who Gia was, because if you are in the Bravo universe, then you are very aware of the Giudice family. Especially after both Teresa and Joe went to prison and the spotlight was constantly on that family. I think that Bethenny has given this whole situation way too much attention for someone who has claimed that RHONJ is trashy. It is cringey for Bethenny to insinuate that and diss Teresa and her family without knowing the full story. RHONJ is available to stream on Peacock in the US.
