Baby Animals Unleash Motörhead Cover With The Living End’s Chris Cheney

Aussie rockers Baby Animals have joined forces with The Living End’s Chris Cheney for a rip-roaring cover of the Motörhead classic, Ace Of Spades.

Led by Suze DeMarchi’s commanding vocal, Cheney’s virtuosic guitar playing perfectly complements the new take on the song.

According to a press release, Baby Animals’ version of Ace Of Spaces is one of the singles they’ll release this year ahead of dropping a highly anticipated new album in 2026.

The band said of the unexpected cover choice, “We were thinking about doing a cover for the new album and were going back and forth for ages. Then, when [drummer and producer] Ricki Rae was on tour with The Living End (doing FOH sound), he asked the boys, if Baby Animals were to do a cover, what would you suggest?”

“Chris Cheney said he’d love to hear us do Ace Of Spades. We started to imagine how we could make it work for us, so we took it as a challenge and dragged Chris in as well – as it was his idea in the first place. And here we are!”

Since their formation 30 years ago, Baby Animals have gone eight times Platinum and won numerous awards. Their self-titled debut album featured iconic hits, including Rush You, Early Warning, One Word, and Painless.

The album spent six weeks at #1 in Australia and kept Nirvana’s Nevermind off the top spot. It also saw them win three ARIA Awards: Best Album, Best Debut Album, and Best Debut Single.

In recent Baby Animals news, the band just polished off a massive Red Hot Summer Tour with Icehouse and Noiseworks, and this month, they’ll join ZZ Top, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, The Living End, Rose Tattoo, and Dallas Frasca on the next Red Hot Summer Tour series.
